Our volunteer counselors must be 18 by the time of Camp and have been diagnosed by an MD with celiac disease or gluten intolerance and thus maintain a strict, gluten-free diet. Counselors must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including with a booster if eligible.
Live Scan Background Check
All counselors must perform a live scan background check. If you have done one for Camp Celiac in the past, you do not have to do another. If you are selected as a counselor we will send you the information about how to get the background check.
The goal of Camp Celiac is to help campers develop confidence and independence. As a result, we give priority to counselors who are not parents/guardians of campers. At times we have had need/space for male parent/guardian volunteers, but we have not had availability for female parent/guardian volunteers in nearly 15 years. Volunteers help supervise the cabins, meal times, arts/crafts, and other activities.
