Camper Application

Camp Celiac serves children ages 9-15 years old by the date of Camp who have been diagnosed by an MD with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Due to limited space, Camp Celiac is restricted to children who are medically limited to a strict, lifelong gluten free diet. Thank you for honoring this restriction.

Campers age 16 at the time of Camp entering 10th grade or lower may choose to apply as a junior counselor or camper. Campers ages 16-17 who are entering 11th grade or higher must apply as a junior counselor. Note that most of our selected junior counselors are entering 12th grade or have just graduated high school due to more applicants than space.

Camp Celiac 2026 Application Priority

1. Campers from Northern California who were waitlisted for Camp Celiac 2025 and unable to attend, and who are age eligible for Camp Celiac 2026 to participate as a camper.

2. Campers from Northern California who apply for Camp Celiac 2026 by Feb. 14, 2026 and have never before attended Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo.

3. Campers from Northern California who apply by February 14, 2026.

4. Campers from Northern California who apply after February 14, 2026.

5. Campers from outside Northern California.

NOTE: Completion of application includes payment of the $25 application fee.

If there are not enough available spaces for any particular group, campers will be selected by lottery. For example, if we do not have space sufficient for all campers that apply in category 3, we will select campers by random lottery.

We regret that we are not able to give application priority to siblings. Due to the number of siblings that attend Camp Celiac, if we were to accept a sibling because another sibling was admitted, the Camp would fill with families who have siblings attending to the disadvantage of families who apply only one camper. We have adopted this policy so that each camper is treated equally.

Campers from Northern California

All campers from Northern California who apply between February 1st and February 14th will be given priority as set forth above if all four application steps (see below) are completed by February 14th (and received if paying by mail); i.e. there is no advantage to applying on February 1st rather than February 14th. At all times, space availability will depend, in part, on the camper's age and gender since cabins are segregated by gender and age. Please see "Camp Watch" on the page for status regarding available space vs. waitlist. Camp Watch will be updated after the February application period ends and we have accessed availability.

Campers from Outside Northern California

Please complete the application instructions below. Priority will be based upon date of completed application and gender/age availability. No spaces will be offered to campers from outside Northern California until the end of March at the earliest, and then only if space is available and according to priority as explained above.

Cabin Assignments

We assign cabins to campers based on gender, age and school grade entering in the upcoming fall (Fall 2026). There is no set cabin for campers of a particular age, gender or entering grade. For example, some years we accept more 9th grade girls than we have space in a single cabin; as a result, the 9th grade girls are assigned to two different cabins where there may be campers of a different, but close age or grade. Thus, returning campers should not have any expectation that they will be assigned to a particular cabin.

Application

Each family will be asked to create a login (user name and password) which can be used to apply for multiple family members as well as to update or complete the application process. If you have applied in the past, you can use the same login and password. Please click below to be directed to the application site. (Site active beginning February 1, 2026).

We have only one session for 2026: July 13, 2026 through July 18, 2026.

Your camper will not be considered for Camp Celiac application until all four application steps are completed: (1) application form, (2) health history form, (3) medication list, and (4) application fee. If you complete your appliction for your camper by February 14, 2026, we will email you by March 3, 2026 with your camper's application status.

There is no cost to attend Camp Celiac, other than the $25.00 non-refundable application fee. If paying the fee is a hardship for your family, please email us at to obtain a fee waiver. We rely on donations and grants to pay for Camp. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo by going to the page on this website or making a donation at the time of application.
